Gnosticism

Pneumatic

A spiritual human capable of receiving gnosis and remembering their divine origin.

Gnostic teaching divides humanity into three types: hylics (material, completely asleep), psychics (soul-level, seeking but not yet seeing), and pneumatics (spiritual, capable of full awakening). The pneumatic carries a divine spark that can remember its origin in the Pleroma. Not everyone is capable of gnosis — some souls are too deeply identified with matter. This is not elitism but diagnosis: some people are ready to wake up, others are not. In film, pneumatic figures are the protagonists who sense something is wrong with reality before they can articulate it: Neo's splinter in his mind, Truman's growing suspicion.
