Demiurge

The false creator god who fashioned the material world in ignorance, mistaking his creation for ultimate reality.

In Gnostic cosmology, the Demiurge is a lesser divine being who created the material world, believing himself to be the supreme God. He is not evil in the sense of conscious malice — he is ignorant, having forgotten or never known the true divine realm above him. The Demiurge's creation is a flawed copy, a prison of matter that traps divine sparks (human souls) in forgetfulness. In film, Demiurge figures appear as architects of false realities: the Architect in The Matrix, Christof in The Truman Show, or any figure who controls a constructed world while claiming ultimate authority.
